the period of exams means more youtube and indulgence in activities that would seem insignificant once the exams are over. korean pop seems more interesting of late, not only to me but apparently to some other friends too. within a span of 2 days, i've been asked twice to watch this:

nobody by wondergirl

seriously, isn't the same phrases being repeated over and over again? obviously my guy friends are the ones who like them, those cute, young and pretty things.

on the otherhand, i think this is better!

omigawd, this feels so secondary school-ish!

an abstract taken from a website: "According to Stephen, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."" stephen king and i share the same sympathies! but ironically, despite thinking the same way, i still like the books.
we watched bride wars today!

MY HAIR IS BLUE! haha the blue streaks look awful with blond base. probably black will be much better

just found out that new media tutorials are discussion-based. i hate hate HATE discussion-based tutorials! i'm the sort who sits, takes down answers and go home mug. and it doesn't help that it's an arts module, so i feel the language handicap there even before going for a tutorial :(

this week has been a physically unproductive week (underlying meaning: zero work done) but a rather emotionally testing one.

i quarrelled and am still quarrelling with my mother.. everyday! especially during CNY period, because i cannot stand her obsession with cleanliness and she really takes advantage of the term "SPRING CLEANING".

MANDUSA lost his battle against shen's fish. it was heartbreaking to watch mandusa's tail locked onto shen's or paula's fish's mouth. i think i gave the people beside me a couple of bruises when i squeezed their arms for support.

my dissertation topic was hardly do-able.

and a lot more, but whatever happened to reporting positive stuff only? there are hardly any to talk about these days... i think the highlight of my week was last night's gathering with a bunch of friends who are comfortable with silences and alot of lame jokes. i'll find more lame jokes before our next outing! aunty xinyi, please help me get some from uncle zhenrui and lijing!

Just the other day, i found myself sniggering uncontrollably to myself in the bus. Well, after seeing someone running for the bus, the past became all too familiar, minus the part where monica flew and skidded on the road, before picking herself up and carried on with the chase.

my dad's creation, a mini art piece of his. i'm pretty amused, i wonder how the recipient will react to this. in case you can't see the value of each stamp clearly, they are 5 cents each.

school has started, and i'm not the least bit motivated to start any readings. this is very worrying but i've yet to do anything about it. any studying khakis??

i've been writing blog posts on my itouch aka edward and have been too lazy to transfer them to blogspot.. until today.. forgive how old some of the entries may seem or how unrelated they are to today's events, they were relevant during the period of writing.

just some quick updates from the previous entries, the battle of the fighting fishes only happened between the undertaker and MANDUSA. because marie and sharkular died, one being eaten by a bird who enjoys fine-dining (eating the most expensive fish) and the other probably from being overfed. the battle will resume on the 23rd, where kiasu shen has bought a grand total of 3 fishes and when paula finally buys the fighting fish waiting for her at the aquarium. MANDUSA is really looking forward to give shen's fish another round of thrashing.
Everytime i find an interesting read, i end up losing sleep over it, its bad. I don't know how any girl who has read the twilight series can keep the whole story to herself. Gushing, sharing and exclaiming is a must. Despite all the ups and downs in the story, I always end up sleeping with a heavy heart. Although this series has a huge impact on my emotions like most enjoyable books do, it pales in comparison to the harry potter series. Perhaps it's the endless usage of the word beautiful or how fragile bella is seems to irk me. I'm all for a stronger woman. In literal sense. I also want the impossible.

I can't sleep so I'm blogging from my bed. It's troublesome to blog using this method, but it's convenient and I'm hoping I might accidentally doze off in the midst of finding the correct alphabets with my fingers. Judging from the length of this entry, it's not working. Today I accompanied the west pack to qian hu fish farm to buy their fighting fishes. A pretty wide but sleepy collection. But of course they each bought a fish that is deemed to be the ultimate warrior. May the best fish win on Friday!

The holidays are coming to an end and it's happening too fast for my liking. I want more hockey games, more tennis matches, more idling time, and more time to do the things that I'll hardly be able to find time for when the semester resumes. It's a little frightening whenever the thought of having to hand up my final year project topic in a month's time. Growing up is such a quick process, I want to tug it back to catch up. I'll probably have a blog entry to summarize how 2008 turned out for me. But you know me, I always procrastinate whenever it comes to blogging:)
most people have the habit of posting happy, sad and angry thoughts and incidents on their blogs. everyone likes reading them, especially the sad and angry ones, as there are more things to think about and definitely plenty to gossip about. to me, sad and angry thoughts are hard to forget and writing them down will only make everything clearer and firmly locked amongst my memories. these things are best to be forgotten and i look forward to the day when they no longer exist amongst my memories. thou shall not write unpleasant events here, there's only room for the happy ones.

2 down, 2 more to go! i think my level of discipline drops drastically every semester, it amazes me that there is still room for it to drop even further this semester. i've become a master of procrastinating during the exam period, let me share with you a list of things that are very interesting and addictive, only valid during exam period.
- read harry potter. seriously, you'll never get sick of it.
- read the newspapers. any reading materials are definitely more interesting than your notes.
- facebooking, and no thanks to jl, word challenge too
- watching movies being downloaded onto your computer, 1% at a time if you're really lucky.
- watching random videos on youtube. really random. to illustrate how random the videos can get, this is a video of Cher.

don't get me wrong, the song isn't nice or catchy at all. what caught my attention was her outfit. i wonder if its painful to wear thongs while hopping around the stage. even if it isn't painful, it must be extremely uncomfortable! imagine a permanent wedgie. my fingers will be itching to get it out. not cher's.

i was exposed to jay chou's olympics song for the first during thurday's late night project session with lily, jiawei, cheryl and weichen. very nice! now it is playing repeatedly on my itunes. finally can catch my breath with most reports submitted, so on friday, weichen and i indulged in ikea's meatballs and fish & chips before shopping around town. town has changed sooooo much and my legs no longer have the stamina to last me the whole stretch, a sign that i've been cooped indoors for far too long.

as promised, pictures from hello wind!

the pumpkins in my eyes (haha so cheesy i know!):

paula de vile... a pity i didn't take the purplish tights the devil was wearing, it was very pretty! and the horns glow too! sometimes flickering alternatedly, sometimes lighting up together, pattern arh!

rookkulee: with the bowl-like hair cut and the confusion between a judo master and a samurai warrior
superbunny: best dressed of the night!

played monopoly and risk. as usual, we started the game arguing, over who gets the horse/car/dog.. we also finally opened my $1.40 bottle of red wine from vietnam. in conclusion, don't ever buy a bottle of wine for $1.40. if it is that cheap, there's probably $1.40 worth of quality wine in there, diluted with water.

my japanese teacher today, wore an apron and took our orders while teaching us how to place orders from a menu.. a very cute sight, unfortunately handphone cameras weren't allowed. and speaking of handphones, i lost all my contacts because silly me traded in my phone without transfering my contacts. this is to answer the 633423434455 people who have asked me whether my phone is stolen.. haha

friday finally!

it seems that i can only pen down my thoughts when i experience extreme happiness/anger/disappointment, other than that, i suffer from writer's block most of the time. i would very much like to jot down how my birthday went and the other gatherings that have made life more fulfilling other than submitting reports and presentations... but time still does not permit me to do so, i have a time bomb ticking away, many reports and projects are still awaiting for me to attend to... so i shall save the pictures and nice memories for another day and just get over and done with my ranting..

i hate it when people lack of morals.. and i have to pay for being honest and responsible. dramatic irony but it happens ALL THE TIME! and it annoys me terribly when people say yes and don't turn up, and its very irritating when i'm being scolded for not caring and showing support when you were the one who wants to do it and push the responsibility to me.. all these suppressed anger, if i were 30 years older, i'd have probably die from a heart attack.

i really need a break from school, so hurray for fridays! and saturday will be spent at anthony's house celebrating halloween.. will share photos if everyone makes an effort to dress up! IMPERSONATING SOCCER PLAYERS ISN'T DRESSING UP! that was specially directed to bernard. hahahaha

the past week has been really hectic, with everything evolving around birthday parties, birthday presents and JAPANESE! no time to shop at comex! i really wanted to become a little more IT-savvy because i have zero gadgets if you exclude a 2 years plus handphone and a 4 years old mp3 player that weiyan doesn't even know how to turn it off. but alas, no time!

my brother thinks he is a nothist, someone who specializes in nothing. haha!

ok i have nothing else interesting to report. even the above isn't interesting. hopefully next week there will be something! :)

a couple of interesting conversations...

p: i want to watch the beijing olympics opening! can we have dinner while watching tv?
b: you want to eat in the garden? you think ala carte dining arh?
p: did you mean al fresco?
b: *embarrassed look*

me: i'm looking for cuff links for a friend
e: *looks down at his calves* why do you need those for?
a: whats the difference between a wristlet and cufflinks?
me: *stares in disbelief*

the past 2 sunday mornings have been pretty good. the sun, the friends and hockey. no quarrels, no fightings because no food is present. the only argument we had was between ban mian and chicken rice after our game. sharon and andy wanted ban mian, pauline and bernard wanted chicken rice. zy and i were caught in the middle. in the end, chicken rice won and 9 people, 2 chickens = no fighting for food! a rare moment for the friday nightsters.

greeted by this mass of hair on sunday morning. hahaha, no points for guessing whose it belongs to!

since my last post, i've finished my internship, travelled to thailand and went for a couple of outings. thailand has been fun and i give xq, wc and tc credits for making it really enjoyable. i shall not blog about the entire trip because xiao qian has done a great job in noting down everything down to the nitty gritties on her blog, so go to her blog if you want to read more. just a couple of memorable events that deserves to be given extra attention to:
- my horrible manicure
i wanted a french manicure, but the range of nail polish were displayed in a red pail and i didn't see any OPI or recognisable brands. so i tried out the lightest pink i could possibly find and asked her to paint it french style. alas, the pink was too dark and the colour combination was absolutely horrid. so i decided to scrape the idea and just go with the pink to minimise further ugliness. i just regretted not spending the money on foot massage instead!!!

- thai massage
the massage was really good! far better than i expected, because we chose a massage place that looked quite impressive. i wanted another thai massage if it wasn't for my badly burnt shoulders :(

- sea sports
parasailing was a great experience although the duration of the ride fell short of expectations. probably because the man claimed that the boat will travel one big round, around the islands. and what we got instead was a small circle, barely leaving the 'safety' radius of the beach -_-

- tc's fall
tc had quite a hard fall and i was walking just behind her, far enough to see the full view of her ankle turning an awkward angle. but to my relief, she only got a couple of scratches on her knees. ok this isn't to laugh at her falling, but rather, the reason that led to her fall. xq was worried about a group of men sitting nearby, so she told tc to walk further towards the edge to avoid the men. and yeap, that caused her to fall! but what was more surprising was, one of the men from that group offered tc water to washed her wounds!!! so nice!

- bellboys who speak chinese
for those who are going thailand, please try not to communicate to your friends in chinese about tipping the bellboy in chinese. because we did that twice and were caught both times when the bellboys turned around and spoke to us in chinese!!! how embarrassing! haha

ok that's all for the trip, i'm really glad that tc and xq had an awesome sense of direction compared to wc and i. they were able to direct the taxi driver back to our hotel! and tc was a great da jie throughout the trip. thank you for taking good care of us! haha and weichen, thank you for tolerating all my nonsense!
on thursday, we had another pfm outing! this time we went to science centre and snow city.

weijuan became a musclewoman

see the resemblance?
how about this?

okkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.. HAHAHA

it took 9 of us a terribly looonngg time to fit all 9 wooden pieces into this tiny little box. but we did it!

after tomorrow, i'll have officially 2 weeks left on my internship. wooo!!! there's someone hyperventilating here!!!! and 3 weeks to the long awaited BANGKOK trip!! this bangkok trip has caused me quite a fair bit of stress which was very unexpected and its still escalating. why the stress? because its the GREAT SINGAPORE SALE and i'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms due to the lack of shopping. whenever i see something worth buying, my fingers and wallet get terribly itchy and a voice in my head repeatedly chants "bangkok, bangkok, what if you can find something cheaper at bangkok?" this is bad, i think i'm having too high expectations on bangkok. not good.

anyways, remember i mentioned about my keyboard being spoilt? my mum very kindly brought adam (my laptop) to the repair shop for me because i'm working and the IT coop's opening hours very nicely coincides with my working hours. and so, to my embarrassment or rather my mum's embarrassment, adam was not faulty at all. it was just on num lock. no wonder some of the alphabets became numbers. luckily i wasn't the one who brought it to the computer shop. haha

many things have happened over the past few weeks, its rather difficult to write everything down because i have a goldfish memory, but i'll try.

first, it was the mc meeting a few saturdays back. i'll just upload a couple of pictures here and leave the rest for the de club blog (if not jun han will nag). oh, we celebrated jun han's birthday as well. we managed to buy jun han a cake and lure him to the open space at vivocity while he was with us the entire time. how did that happened? i think most of the credits should go to keith and the extra terrestrial. keith for being himself, being that jun han really believed him when he told jun han that he lost his way in vivocity while finding the toilet -_- and the extra terrestrial for being so clever to buy 3 boxes of durians and giving the excuse that those have to be eaten in the open.

jun han, extra terrestrial and keith being raped. although i think its more like they were caught showering naked. and why do guys always cover their chest when asked to act raped arh? haha as though they have something to protect over there :)

all the 3 pretty gu- niangs!

then we have bella's birthday party. i think i had one of the most horrible shirts to wear, although slightly better than the girls with arm pit hair drawn. hahaha.

f4 and shan cai. 'nuff said.

last saturday, i celebrated the birthday of one of my favourite person, tan ah beng. we took alot of silly and crazy photos. some of them made me feel like strangling genevieve shee. but seeing she looked 'not too bad' and that it was a joyous occasion, i shall leave the bloodshed for another day, haha

on one of the saturdays, i can't remember which, i joined a couple of the de club people to cheer at toa payoh stadium. i was totally prepared to cheer for singapore at the table tennis tournament. in the end, we had to cheer for an empty stadium because all they wanted was to record us cheering -_-

we were supposed to take a picture of our ugly faces.

felt that the first one wasn't ugly enough because only ernest was committed to looking ugly (hahahaha), so we took a second one.

the second ugly face pic. now, how has your facial expression changed, mr xu wen! justin eng even worse! really a replica lah!

ok i'm glad that other than the boring weekdays that are preoccupied with work, i have this group of fun people to hang out with. and i'm pretty sure we'll have more of these in future! :)

a thousand apologies for the lack of updates! any of you whom i've talked to via msn lately would know that my blardy keyboard is out of order... that doesn't make blogging any easier... tskkk... but i shall blog alittle tonight to spare all the agony of seeing the same things repeatedy.

tomorrow i will be attending a risk management course. WSHA, RISK ASSESSMENT, I CONQUER THEE! ok who am i bluffing, those are sleep inducing topics! like how my eyes could barely remain open during michael chew's lecture. but i'm determined to pay my full attention tomorrow because at the end of the 2 days session, i've to sit for a test with all the project managers, i dont want to lau kui!

so my dear friends, if you havent busted your sms quota for the month or are feeling more talkative than usual, please feel free to msg me over the next two days. it can be an encouraging msg to keep me focused or a scolding msg to wake me up, whatever it may be, it'll all be appreciated and taken with alot of salt :)

hope all my uni mates are doing well!
Sunday, June 01, 2008

oooh this week has been pretty good so far, and i'm sure its only going to get better because tomorrow's eric's birthday party, where i'll finally get to see all my jc classmates!!! i missed them sooo much!!! and the great singapore sale is finally here!!! speaking of sales arh, i can't stand it when shops put a BIG BIG BIG sign that says STOREWIDE 70% DISCOUNT! and put a teeny weeny note next to it, "up to"... hello, so deceiving!

the week had a great start with a public holiday monday! i love public holidays, but there won't be anymore all the way till my internship ends! so i have been given plenty of administrative stuff to do, some don't really need to use my brain, some use my brain also cannot do (reading chinese newspaper articles).. but oh wells, i shall make the best out of the entire internship! now that i'm into my 2nd week, i think it isn't that bad lah, i was too quick to jump to conclusions, my bad. in the midst of all the admin work, i still get to go on the occasional site visits, follow the safety auditors around and watch how construction workers get interviewed, quite interesting! i've been wearing boots whenever i go for a site visit, until last night my leg cramped in the middle of the night! HOW COME!?!?

spent saturday with tan ah beng. very fun!!! us, being lazy as usual, decided to go tcc for a drink. friends who know me well enough know that i don't drink coffee at all, so when i saw a "nutello" on the menu, i kinda expected it to be a chocolaty cold drink. but the picture of the drink looked pretty small. ah beng assured me that since its a cold drink, it should be like the normal size. and it was totally the opposite

picture similar to the one shown on the menu

final product. So disappointing

and today, my boss saw that i was getting quite restless in the library so he brought me out to myanmar embassy. so i helped to carry medicine to donate to the cyclone victims through the myanmar embassy, what an eye opener! the building is rather old but it sends off good vibes. i like how some of the countries like myanmar, vietnam, thailand use wood for their floorings. anyways, the highlight of the entire trip was, i shook hands with the ambassador!!! muahaha. ok its doesn't seem like a big deal, but the way the room was decorated and the furniture was arranged, it really seemed like those ministers talk you see on television.

the ambassador was telling us how everything was blown out of proportion.. alot of foreigners, mainly ang mohs, said that they were giving enough aid to the people and not letting them help the burmese... but he said that the president flew around the areas affected by the cyclone on a helicopter because the cyclone had destroyed the roads and all means of communication. (ok this is what i think i heard, it wasn't very easy trying to understand what he was saying) and that the foreigners do not understand the country's terrain and geographical aspects. made quite a lot of sense to me, then i realised that we do not know the true story, all the while most of us have the impression that myanmar's government isn't doing enough because we have read negative reports on the internet, reports written by foreigners! of course there is a high possibility of biasness.

then my colleague told me that the foreigners wanted to give myanmar aid and inexchange, allow reporters into their country, like there must be some benefits for them lah. hmmm then that isn't helping them sincerely already, isn't it? politics is such a confusing thing!

oooh and i just found out that the hockey girls and guys got into the finals, which was played today! although both teams lost and got 2nd place, i'm very happy for them!!! hurray!

tuesday met up with ah teo and got scolded for giving a "te-face".. haha that phrase is so funny and surprisingly catchy! stop giving me that "te-face" arh! and we met nigel at island cremery!

for nigel's fans.. hurhurhur

during my blogging hiatus, i tried to study for 5 exams, sat for 5 papers, didn't feel good for at least 4 of them, chilled out at mount faber aka fort canning! (haha private joke) had a hot and humid lunch at holland food court followed by a romantic session at essential brews with 5 great companions, said goodbyes to the lovely vice-cap, attended 2 twenty-firsts, started my first day of my 9 weeks internship, read countless of stuff on CONQUAS and summarized a billion newspaper articles. now, where do i start from?

first, i came online today and saw this!

yarn: recently i got to know a guy and i only know him for a week but there's just sth about him.. it felt like i knew him forever. like i could predict what he'll do and all his behaviors like i Really know him when in fact i dont know much about him
yarn: yesterday i realised why.

yarn: he is yuanshen.
yarn: not IS yuanshen. but he's EXACTLY like yuanshen
yarn: my friends and i call that guy manwhore/socialslut. cos he's like ys like that.. if he enters a room full of people he doesnt know, he'll know them all in half an hr.

phew.. i thought she was starting to like yuanshen.. until the word manwhore/socialslut appeared, i heaved a sign of relief.

they couldn't stand waiting for paula, so they sat down along the roadside. ah peks! and i really think shen's shoes look like alligators. secretly felt like stepping on them the entire day.

at essential brews, things got a little too comfortable :S

sharon, paula, shen, ming :)

U-G-L-Y! zoom in on his lips for a closer look at those ultra thick and filled with saliva lips. haha

erm. ok they were supposed to look raped. paula's was an award winning expression. but shen's was.... he seems to enjoy being raped.

sharon turned off all the colours in my cam, except for green. i kinda like the effect!bye paula! see you again in 3 months time!! you'll be sorely missed!

after not working for a wonderful long period of time, my internship started on monday. oh the misery of waking up at 7am daily.. and the hours spent in the office. not nice! but my colleagues have been pretty ok so far, let's hope the job becomes more interesting soon!!

and beiying! since you said my blog is very popular, i'll help you to promote your online shop. just for you! who asked you to be so honest, honesty has its rewards.. hahahaha http://closetsplendor.livejournal.com/

yayys! the weekends are just around the corner!

anyhoos, my dear friends out there, if you happen to be around queensway shopping centre or alexandra village area during afternoons between 12-1, jio me out for lunch!

once in a blue moon, i'll stand in the kitchen overlooking the microwave, or the light switch, or the door knobs in the house, recalling how i used to jump to reach these things or how they seemed so out of reach. it really gives me a reality check of how time has really fly and that we are more empowered to do the things that we wish for. or maybe its just me getting taller. haha. nah thats nonsense, my height has been stagnant since sec 4.

my computer at home goes into a photo slideshow when it is left untouched for a couple of minutes, in other words, my screen saver. the slideshow has pictures of my friends and i, my brother and his friends and very little of my family. i just realise that i take very little photos with my family, and ironically they are the ones i treasure most in my life. i shall take more pictures with them :) one day, my mum asked me, "when you look at these photos, do you feel sad?" she then proceeded on to describe how i used to run towards her whenever she picked me up from school and how my brother will run away instead.. HAHAHA. guys.. tsktsk.. though she tried to sound nonchalent about it, i could sense that she missed those moments.

as time passes everyday, i find myself desperately trying to catch hold of memories, reminiscing and hoping that we could re-live those moments again. as a result, not enjoying the present and and end up repeating the cycle 1 or 2 years down the road. i have decided to enjoy NOW and just remember those glorious days :) besides, the friends are still here, what's there to miss? and they will never fail to remind me of all the horrible and blackmail-worthy details, so sweet... haha

anyway, i haven't updated about PSD because i read soooo many blog entries about it until i have nothing left to add. haha even a picture entry is quite pointless seeing so many of them have been posted.. haha so i guess i'll just stick to reading all the pretty smelly doll's archives :) but i'm just glad that everything turned out well, the place was good, the company was better. before the dinner i was quite worried that we would not find a suitable place to eat, then i'll feel guilty making everyone travel to rail mall, but that worry was uncalled for! because they eat anything and everything! haha.. ok lah, some of them only, guilty ones i don't think i need to mention your names.. haha
